Our client is an Oilfield Services company to the Upstream sector in the Oil and Gas.
The Drilling Completion & Intervention (DCI) Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in drilling completion and intervention operations, coupled with driving business growth through technical sales. The role combines engineering excellence with a strong focus on client relationship management and business development to secure contracts and expand the company’s market share in the DCI product line.
Roles/Responsibility
Technical Expertise and Operations
- Provide engineering support for drilling completion and intervention projects, including job design, planning, and execution.
- Ensure all operations adhere to industry standards and best practices for safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during project execution.
- Collaborate with operations teams to optimize equipment usage and performance.
- Prepare detailed reports on DCI operations, highlighting successes, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
Business Development and Technical Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the DCI market, leveraging technical expertise to create value propositions.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and workshops for clients to showcase the company’s capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and tailoring solutions to meet those requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement strategic plans for market penetration and revenue growth.
- Prepare and submit proposals, bids, and tenders for DCI projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and company standards.
Market Intelligence and Strategy
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide input on pricing strategies, product development, and service offerings based on client feedback and market demands.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and forums to network and represent the company.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, project details, and sales activities.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, project progress, and business opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in drilling completion and intervention operations inclusive of 3+ years of experience in DCI technical sales.
- Proven track record in technical sales and business development within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of DCI equipment, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in technical software and tools related to DCI operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
