Our client an offshore drilling contractor is looking to hire experienced Marine Planner / Barge Master for their offshore operations in Nigeria.
Roles/Responsibility
- Ensure that all marine aspects of the rig’s operations are carried out in accordance with statutory and regulatory controls and guidelines.
- Supervise the operation of the marine department to ensure the safe and efficient running of the rig.
- Monitor the weather conditions and rig motions; inform OIM of conditions likely to affect drilling operations and seaworthiness of the rig.
- Ensure all navigation equipment is properly maintained and ready for use at all times.
Requirements:
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- High school level or equivalent.
- A minimum of eight (8) years offshore experience working with a multinational Drilling contractor.
- Previous experience working on a Baker Marine Pacific Class 375, or similar class of premium jack up is required.
- Advanced working knowledge of JD Edwards, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- OIM Bottom bearing license (Vanuatu). Rig Mover certificate preferred.
- Experienced on a Jackup Barges (Minimum to Chief Officer Rank)
- Experience on MOPU (Added advantage)
- Valid offshore medical fitness certificate (OGUK standard).
