Our client an offshore decommissioning service provider for oil and gas installations are in urgent need for an Decommissioning Supervisor to join their team offshore in the North Sea UK.
Responsibility:
This role is an integral position within the Jack-up Project crew and is responsible for the direct supervision of all subcontractors and liaising with the Jack-up crew member allocated to the project.
The decommissioning supervisor (DCS) ensures that all tasks are executed as per the method statement. He/she is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all the project activities on the deck and on the platform.
The DCS will report directly to the Offshore project superintendent.
Projects Summary:
The projects will start with the integration /outfitting of the project equipment to the new built Heavy lift (ROV, transfer system, lifting equipment and tools, etc) and the commissioning of it in the yard. The initial offshore campaigns comprise the removal of jackets (up to 4 jackets in one batch) in the North Sea UK sector followed by load-in at the disposal yard. The subsequent campaigns will consist of jacket and topsides removal with larger-scale projects starting in 2026.
Main activities:
- Review the method statement and job cards to ensure all material required is available onboard.
- Participate in all toolbox talk, ensure all personnel clearly understand their tasks and duties.
- Lead-by example, on safety behaviour and on commitment to deliver a successful project and a great place to work.
- Lead the activities on deck in coordination with the deck foreman. Pro-actively communicate to optimize SIMOPS between marine and project activities.
- Feedback to the ODE any missing material, breakdowns or foreseeable execution issues.
- Provide feedback to the ODE and offshore superintendent in supervisor’s area of expertise.
- Is “hands-on”, verify the suitability of the material (owned by client or provided by subcontractors). Attend all tools the function test on deck.
- Actively fault find and repair equipment whether owned or not by client in conjunction with subcontractor or Marine crew.
Profile:
- Minimum 10-year experience in the offshore sector.
- Expert in one the following area: Heavy lifting, Subsea ROV work, Skidding/Jacking/SPMT transport, Black trade (Welding/Cutting).
Attitude and skills:
- Willing to be part of a fast pace developing company, with a steep learning curve, to share its experience and knowledge with the team.
- Act as a leader on deck, able to manage subcontractors from different trades and background
- Team player and autonomous worker..
- Hands-on, always looking to go the extra mile.
- Expert in one of the following areas, with knowledge of the others: Heavy lifting, Subsea ROV work, Skidding/Jacking/SPMT transport, Black trade (Welding/Cutting).
- Good communication skills. English mandatory.
